Retina Care platform
optoVision offers opticians and ophthalmologists a special eye screening service that enables retinal diseases to be recognised immediately. SPRYLAB developed the Retina-Care platform for this purpose, on which optoVision customers can use the service and receive analyses of the images for further treatment within a very short time.
Vision for greater clarity
optoVision sees itself as an important service provider for opticians in Germany. It was therefore a logical step to use our own expertise in optometry and ophthalmic optics to offer another important service: software for analysing retinal screenings.
Retinal screenings can detect pathological changes in the eye at an early stage, which is crucial for the successful treatment of those affected. The task was to make this software and the associated service available to all providers on a user-friendly platform. Together with SPRYLAB, the concept and design for the retina-care.de website was created.
Everything at a glance
The Retina-Care platform offers high-precision eye screening based on AI-based software. This automated software solution developed by optoVision analyses images of the retina using vector-based algorithms in less than a minute. This allows retinal abnormalities or eye diseases, such as glaucoma, to be recognised at an early stage and treatment by an ophthalmologist to be initiated.
With retina-care, SPRYLAB has developed a complex and user-friendly platform that gives opticians and ophthalmologists access to retinal analyses. retina-care.de features a protected customer area with the screening portal for opticians and ophthalmologists, including a link to the image service, which analyses the retinal images in less than a minute. Another major advantage: the platform architecture offers fast and attractive access to optoVision’s service.
Retina-Care can import images from the customer’s camera via an API. The backend enables optoVision to analyse and manage providers as well as key management for communication with the analysis backend.
This is exactly how it works
- Eye screening: optician or ophthalmologist photographs the retina of both eyes
- Automated upload of the images taken by the optician or ophthalmologist to the protected customer area of Retina-Care.de
- Commissioning of the analysis and associated payment function with a Coins credit that can be purchased on the Retina-Care platform
- The retinal images are analysed in less than a minute using the analysis software, enabling eye diseases to be detected at an early stage
- The optician or ophthalmologist receives the results after just a few minutes
